Greetings!

i come to you all the way from the greatest place on earth, aka Whistler! I have found a new home and have had about 5 hours sleep in the last week, love it. Haven t had too much time to check out whats been happening on the tune front, apart from the fact that every club I've been to has played disgustingly shit music. But you cant have it all your own way i guess.

Anyway here's some tunes.

P.S. expect many lazy as fuck posts such as this one over the coming months (apologies in advance)

Permanent Vacation - Indo Silver Records

After hearing the Millenium Disco compilation i wasnt sure i was ever going to hear anything to rival such a collection of amazing artists and tracks in one place for free. Indo Silver Records obviously accepted my challenge without telling me and went about putting together a compilation to rival Shiny Disco Club's monster. With a lineup including Geisha Twins, The Alpha Snail, Yella Finesse, Sky Sailor and DeeJMD amongst others its pretty apparent these guys have done their homework. The 17 track release is strong throughout with funky bass lines and red-hot guitar riffs that could put a smile on the face of anyone, even perhaps my sister. The title is oh so appropriate with myself about to embark on an almost permanent vacation to Whistler. I'm sure this will get more than its fair share of plays in the upcoming months in an attempt to try and reacquaint myself with what it feels like to experience temperatures without a minus sign infront of them!

Permanent Vacation by Indo Silver Records

P.S. As mentioned above ill be taking a lengthy holiday to the great white north and i probably wont have a great deal of time to keep up to date with the blogging aspect of my life. If you would be interested in coming on as a writer for our humble little blog swing an email to arrivederci.b@gmail.com as we would be more than happy to have you onboard!!

Wine & Cheese

Are Back with more of their funky dirty sounding disco tunes. If i was ever to make an adult film. i'd definitely have these guys all over the film score. Give this a listen and you will get exactly what i mean.
Climbing up the Ceiling by Wine & Cheese

Aussie Frames has done a sexy acid remix of one of my favourite Australian acts Grafton
Primary and their new one The Eagle. He also dropped a mixtape that will get you in the summer vibe. Check it.

The Alpha Snail - Sam Bowie

Another youngun absolutely killing it. The Alpha Snail aka Quinten Rosborough is just 20 years old and released his first EP for FREE! via his soundcloud about 3 or 4 weeks ago (i slept on it!). I'm now making up for lost time and am enjoying his disco chops to death. His tracks are starting to gain some serious support around the globe and its not hard to see why with originals as good as these and a number of absolutely banging remixes. Check him out!

Sam Bowie by The Alpha Snail

Tiny Pants by The Alpha Snail

Le Knight Club - Number Seven (Alpha Snail Remix) by The Alpha Snail

Satellite Stories - Helsinki Art Scene (Alpha Snail Unoffical Remix) by The Alpha Snail

BONUS: The legends Flight Facilities played at the most recent Decade Party at the Paris Social Club. For those who dont know about the concept each act playing on the night is given a decade 60's-00's in which they have to pretty much select their tracks from. The FF Boys were given the 70's and they certainly did their homework, playing the originals that have been sampled from the likes of Daft Punk, Justice and Duck Sauce, giving their 70's set a unique modern feel. They recorded their live set and here is the results. I am looking forward to them sharing a number of these edits with the world in the upcoming weeks!

Mille - Afterski

This track takes me back. Imagine the year is 1994 and you have been playing Street Fighter II on Sega Mega Drive relentlessly after school for weeks and you finally make it to the final battle, Ryu fucking destroys the cunt, cause you know he is fucking Ryu! The credits roll up in japanese and Mille - Afterski starts playing for the next 15 minutes. Ok so the actual track that would be playing would have nothing on this bad boy. Mille claims the track is "ski music", but i beg to differ. However he makes a compelling case with the video for the track, which is below. If anyone knows what movie the video is taken from please let us know, as i think it is hillarious.

Now we have a serious change of pace from Redial. I think he put it best himself by saying, "Left the distortion at home, put on your disco shoes." Luckily my disco shoes are left on permanently. Sydney's newcomers Slow down Honey get the makeover here, and check out the original if you havent already, indie pop at its finest!

Kartell - Fresh Memories

Just a quick one this morning but it needs to done. Kartell has been given the daunting task of following Shiny Disco Club's monster first release, Millenium Disco, with his first EP, Fresh Memories. With Remixes from Go Go Bizkitt, Mix Chopin, Cheap Kidz and Quentin 909 you know its going to be good. But even with all that amazing talent on the remixes, Kartell steals the show with 5 originals that are all pretty fucking amazing. It has put a smile on my face even after next to no sleep and work drawing nearer and nearer. Oh yea the whole thing is once again completely free. Shiny Disco Club, i love you...THIS IS NOT ONE TO BE MISSED!
Stream it below, download individually , or download the whole thing HERE.

What were you doing at 18?

Due my recent change of fate to become a slave to the man i have not been afforded the chance to spend my usual 6 hours a day on the computer. In fact i don't think i have spent that long on the computer in the past two weeks combined. Yea ok, music blog not counselling session i get it. TUNEZ!

First up yella finesse. Another young musical prodigy that makes you wonder what on earth you are doing with your life when a kid is making tunes this good at 19. Head over to his soundcloud for his other tracks and a few freebies. His new track and forthcoming EP has some large hype surrounding it with remixes from Go Go Bizkitt! and Pardon My French. (head over to Go Go Bizkitt's soundcloud for a preview of his remix)

And as if that wasn't enough to make you feel really shit about yourself, here is Dimsaw. Another barely legal guy producing tunes beyond his years. His music has a really warm 80's feel that will put a smile on your face.

Alright enough of all that. Tony Bennett gets a nice work over here from Once a Thief. This guys productions have improved out of sight in the last month (in my opinion anyway) and im looking forward to future installments.

Even though this is starting to become a bit like a broken record, here is Go Go Bizkitt's latest. The world is finally starting to take note and i got a piece of good news last week when he was finally confirmed to play at my local stomping ground, Ruby Tramp on November 13. Yea that's what's up.

Wet Lips - Take Two!

After a huge opening night that awoke the Gold Coast Party scene from its seemingly endless slumber, Wetlips is returning this Friday night 1st October to its Ruby Tramp stomping ground. Having only just recovered from the last time around, i know i am going to be in for another month of hell after this one is over!

Keeping the strong Tuff 'Em Up Records vibe going this time around is Chillean french house/disco/electro/who the fuck knows artist 'Barretso'. Expect driving kick drums, fast paced basslines and plenty of his dreamy vocals. (Yea he is that talented he does the whole fucking thing himself.) Making his first visit to Australia he has already destroyed dance floors all around the country leaving club owners, promoters and attendees all in the same state of disarray. Also on show will be Brisbane's imported hard-hitting all-rounder Wolfie as well as the 'Lip Gang' Djs, Wil E, K.OH!, Defkids and making his Wetlips debut will be Cell.

So come along early and stay til we get kicked out and expect to see plenty salivating labia! WARNING: if you miss this one you have to wait another month til you can catch it again.

Anyone who would like guest list privileges make sure you email arrivederci.b@gmail.com by Wednesday Night and get in there early for even cheaper entry!
For more info head over here.
Or to keep up to date with all future Wetlips events add them as a friend on facebook.

P.S. Expect an embarassing photo or 10 to be taken of yourself at some stage throughout the night as things are guaranteed to get out of hand!

Shiny Disco Club - Millenium Disco

Ok, so I am a couple of days late on this one, but Shiny Disco Club's first release as a label is a monster 28-track free compilation of the who's who in french/filter/disco house in 2010. To have a roster that includes artists from all over the world (and Arrivederci Bitches! favourites) such as Louis La Roche, Moonchild, Go Go Bizkitt, LeBatman, Hana Yori Kichou Na, Xinobi, LBCK amongst others would be quite some feat for any well established record label. When you take into account that Shiny Disco Club was established THIS YEAR it is even more incredible. This release is sure to put them on the map as it is the best compilation of its type i have ever heard. Anyway enough of me sucking them off here are the tunes. You can download them individually from the soundcloud player below, or in two conveniently zipped files from the following links: PART 1 & PART 2. Be sure to watch out for other upcoming releases from these guys including Kartell's first Ep which is due to be out sometime next month. ENJOY

Down N Dirty Djs - Jazzed Up

So these guys have just released their first Ep on Promo Records and it just goes to show how far they have come since the, "I keep it Dirrrty" and the "Forgot About Dre." days. The 4 Track release (Lemon Lime, Jazzed up, Walking the Line and one remix by Canadian Miki Mute) showcases their amazing versatility as producers with hints of techno, house, prog. house, french house and even some tribal sounds sprinkled throughout the tracks that refuse to be pigeon-holed into one genre or category. It is guaranteed to get you up and moving, so save your money that you would have wasted buying whatever shit ministry of sound cd it was that you were going to buy and head over HERE and show your support! Also those of you heading to Parklife in Brisbane this Saturday this pair will be rocking the ROCKTAILS STAGE FROM 2:15-3PM. So be sure to head down there because it is going to be out of control!

If you head over to their soundcloud you can catch a preview of the tracks on the Ep.

Below are a couple of songs from the boys that you can grab for FREE!

5 Must See Acts at Parklife!

As the national festival tour fast approaches it is around about this time that i generally start to get annoyed that the organisers haven't published a timetable for myself to spend hours on end trying to decipher which acts will cut it and which won't. So since the organisers are a lazy bunch of dickheads i have decided to come up with the official 'Arrivederci Bitches! 5 must see acts at parklife' list and share it with all of you.

1. SOULWAX

No surprises here. In my opinion these guys are the only act on the bill capable of a performance that will ultimately alter the lives of the punters. The Dewaele brothers are a cut above the rest when it comes to putting on shows that bring the house down, as anyone who has ever seen the group perform live will testify. Their in your face style of hardhitting electro rock will blow your mind and has the potential to leave your shorts a tad soggy.
If that hasnt convinced you then watch this video in its entirety and you will see what i mean.

2. CLASSIXX

Ok so maybe some favoritism could start to set in from here on out, but it is with good reason. This American duo who underwent a name change from the 'Young Americans' after being sued have gone from strength to strength in the past 18 months or so and they are at this point in time one of my favourite 'dance' (using the term loosely) acts in the world! With remixes for the likes of Groove Armada, Phoenix, Holy Ghost! and Shiny Toy Guns amongst others under their belts as well as a string of breath-taking originals these guys are a must-see for any true music lover.

3. CUT COPY

Heading up the strong Australian contingent in the festival are my favourite of the many many homegrown indie electro bands, Cut Copy. With a new album that is due out in the next few months and a huge reputation for stealing the show across a number of Australian festivals in the last few years, I for one am more than excited to see them live once again. With mastermind Dan Whitford at the helm they are sure to deliver plenty of their dominant and unique sound that has gotten them to where they are today!

4. GRUM

Proving that there is at least one decent thing to have come out of Scotland is their number one musical export, GRUM. With his debut album, Heartbeats being one of my favourite albums of the year so far and the video for his single, 'I can't shake this feeling' massive all over the world (i have been led to believe it has received signifigant airtime on the likes of Channel V) i expect the crowd that assembles to feast their ears will surprise a lot of people.

5. THE WOMBATS

This three piece from Liverpool have come a long from their first show where they wore jesters hats with bells hanging from the end and sunglasses. One of the leaders in the indie rock genre are releasing their eagerly awaited second studio album in late November. Having played some of the world's largest festivals to crowds in excess of over 100 thousand people in the past couple of years expect their show to a piece of fine tuned showmanship that will send the crowd into a state of pandemonium!

OTHER ACTS TO LOOK OUT FOR, IF YOU FIND THE TIME

Ajax
The long time king of the Australian party scene is sure to serve up plenty of his signature cut and paste mixing style and plenty of songs you wont hear any other djs play for sheer comical value

2ManyDJs
The other half of the Dewaele brother experience is back for Parklife goers to indulge in this year. The kings of the mash-up genre will fill the stage with dancing females from the crowd.

Down'n'Dirty Djs
Local boys and Arrivederci Bitches! favourites make their first appearance at Parklife this year and are sure to be showcasing material from their first EP that is to be released next Monday on Promo Records.

Uffie
I have been a long time admirer of the queen of electro-rap and Ed Banger stablemate. I am looking forward to plenty of Sexy Dreams and Denim Jeans!

Bag Raiders
These guys are killing it right now and their album is also due out within the next month or so and if their latest single, 'way back home' is anything to go by it will be one for the ages. They are bringing a full live show including guitars keyboards percussion and more which will be one to look out for.

super mega happy fun post

i have been inundated with music this week and i have been too busy playing poker and listening to it to post any of it. Anyway i've decided that the quality has been so high that i need to post them all, but there aren't enough hours in the day to given them their own posts so here they are, all together in one convenient place.

Lastly my homeboy swick brings the lols with his second installment from the "Picking up 16 yr old girls dj tool" genre that he has made his own.

Moonchild!

Moonchild has been at it again. In case anyone was debating who was leading the way over here in Australia in terms of filter/french house music, this bearded young man from Sydney shared with the world his latest bomb to show everyone just exactly who is boss! The latest in his long line of amazing tracks is a remix of Kamei's track Planetary. Enjoy!

I know We Speak No Americano is getting a bit long in the tooth for most people, but if you havent checked out Moonchild's complete work over than your ears have been missing out!

This Should Whet Your Appetite!

For a town that is internationally known as a party town, the Gold Coast nightlife is appalling. If you can survive a night out without getting king-hit or head-butted for no reason, you are still likely to be subjected to 'Sexy Bitch' being played on repeat, or whatever other crap David Guetta or Jason Derullllooooo has released a year earlier. However, this coming Friday marks the first night of the future of club nights on the coast, with fellow bloggers from Barney Vs The Dinosaur stepping up to host the first in their monthly installment of parties, Wetlips at Ruby Tramp. It is sure to make you forget everything you thought you knew about parties on the Gold Coast with Tuff 'Em Up records man, Redial heading up an all-star cast. He is sure to be serving up plenty of his signature synth lines, heavily distorted breaks, and basically everything that is good about electro!
Joining him behind the decks will be a host of amazing local Brisbane DJs including our favourite Asian, K.Oh! as well as TAG TEAM, Wil e, Defkids and up and coming Gold Coast talent, Splice. So do whatever you have to do whether that be, quit your job, get a divorce, have an abortion, commit fraud or steal money from your mum's purse, make sure that you are in attendance. For those of you who are looking for the VIP experience, including entry to upstairs (where the real party will be at!), you should email FULL NAMES to arrivederci.b@gmail.com by Wednesday at the absolute latest!

Come and hang out with us and get a lesson on what partying really is, but dont blame us when you wake up on Saturday afternoon with no money, brain cells, pants or nasal septum!

P.S. Strong rumour has it that there will be some Tuff 'Em Up royalty in attendance...

Geisha Twins!

Introducing Michael Verdugo and Zac Bolick, aka Geisha Twins. These two guys from San Diego, California are producing some funky-fresh tunes with some deliciously delicious samples. Listening to their tunes I have just a slightly funny feeling that this pair are about to blow up in a big way, wouldn't you agree?

Monday, August 16, 2010

Ghosts of Venice!

I feel that we might just be a touch late jumping on the Ghosts of Venice (aka Lee Dunn) bandwagon, but at least we are hopping on eventually. He has been making a name for himself over the past year or so with a number of unusual, yet ingenious disco edits of artists such as Janet Jackson, Shakira and Spiller. His latest edition, titled 'Disco Love Affair' will only add to his growing reputation as one of the world's best when it comes to creating disco bombs that will get you moving!

BONUS!
Tooshoes sent over his latest edit of the timeless hip hop track, 'Next Episode'. Look out for this one at a nightclub near you, as i dare say it will become a secret weapon of more than a few dj's the world over very quickly!

FOR THOSE OF YOU WHO ARE UNAWARE, CLICK ON THE DOWNWARD ARROW ON THE RIGHT HAND SIDE TO DOWNLOAD THE TRACK!!

P.S. we have a new soundcloud so head over there and check it out, and leave your track/s in the dropbox! Alternatively, go listen to our first killer track and stayed tuned for more in the near future.

Catching up

I have been really busy (read: lazy) over the past week or so with exams and assignments and work so i haven't gotten around to posting a fair few songs that i was going to. They were all going to get their own individual post in a perfect world, but unfortunately we live in this one instead so i am throwing them all in together.
