As the amount of remixes rises exponentially as we get towards the end of the submission period for the remix competition i thought that i would post what i believe are some of the better few.
I wont say much about them, i'll let you make your own mind up. There are some that stay quite close to the original, some that take a completely different direction. Do you think any of them rival the original? Mmmmmmm
Well enough of my ranting here's the music.

Go Go Bizkitt!

This Somerset(UK) resident, formerly from Edinburgh brings the funk. He has a growing collection of remixes from Daft Punk, Pony Pony Run Run, Breakbot amongst others, that have all been stamped with the unique Bizkitt! sound. He also just released an EP DeepFunk Records titled "Stutter Funk"which you can purchase over at BeatPort. He has been a busy boy lately also pumping out two new remixes in the 3 weeks since the release of the EP. The First remix, "Walking on a Dream" is one of my favourite tracks of this year so far. The other, a Remix of Le Knight Club's "Soul Bells" is just as good already has a tonne of support. I am also eagerly awaiting the release of his "We Speak No Americano" which I hope he will finish after finding out he is ineligible to win the remix competition because he isn't an Australian resident!

Baby did a bad bad thing!

Mr Chicago comes to us all the way from some place in Denmark that i have absolutely no idea how to pronounce. This ultra late night tune is sure to turn some heads inside out of the punters who are already frying their brains as the sun is coming up.

Tooshoes!

Tim Denning, aka "Tooshoes", is quickly rising up my list of local DJs to watch out for. Those of you from Brisbane or the Gold Coast are probably already familiar with his name. Incorporating his own blend of bootlegs, mashups and remixes into
impressive club sets, the friendly local has a pretty good idea how to stamp a
party with his signature style. Having played at premier events like Fuck
Fluro, Disco Disco and Future Music Festival, the Tooshoes
name has been splattered all over the place - with punters always reacting
positively to the tunes he serves up.
He was kind enough to send us over some tracks to share with you all! If you are from the Gold Coast be sure to catch Tooshoes at ForceFed at Ruby Tramp on 29th May!

EDIT:
Forgot to mention he is playing side Laidback Luke, Tiga, The Proxy and Felix Da Housecat at Winter Sound System!

The Gypsy Collective!

The boys over at Gypsy Collective have just released their first track (a remix of Kavinksy's Nightcall) in time for the last ever Kclub that took place on Saturday night at Ruby Tramp on the Gold Coast. From all accounts it was very well received and not hard to see why once you give it a listen. Top track that I'm sure will receive a lot of support.

C'mon...Really?

Two people from opposite sides of dance music have teamed up to create this ah i guess you would call it a song... I'm unsure about it. It might grow on me a bit if i give it the chance to, but this unlikely collaboration has only further enhanced my view of Tiesto being not that great...

Take Note!

Louis La Roche who you may remember, was once believed to be a side project of either Erol Alkan or Thomas Bangalter (Daft Punk) when he dropped his first French house bomb "Love" on Valentines Day 2008. Quite the compliment for a bedroom producer from London who was just 17 at the time!
Now at 19 he has an album in the works to be released sometime later in the year and thanks to GottaDanceDirty here is a track off that forthcoming album, that your ears will thanks him for later.

We are still alive

It's been a while but that's mostly because there has been very little good new music to blog about. Thankfully for everyone involved Bingo Player's have stepped up to put a stop to that with their new thumping song Tom's Diner.

Another song that's not that new but had slipped past me until this morning is a nice rework from Addy Van Der Zwan & R3hab. Enjoy
