Skream!

It's not too often i feel the need to write about a dubstep producer. In fact until the previous sentence, it has never occurred. But over the past two months or so the genre has been slowly growing on me more and more. Then yesterday i came across Skream's latest EP, the third and final volume in the 'Freeizm' series in anticipation of his album, Out of the Box that is to be released on 9th August and it got me hook, line and sinker. It is a journey through grime, tribal sounds, and some downright filthy dubstep and back again that leaves you wanting more. Here are my picks from the 9 track release...

Sky Sailor!

When i think of Russia, i think of below-zero temperatures, vodka, mafia, Boris Yeltsin and Anna Kournikova. What i don't think of is funk-filled disco music that will blow your mind. That was until i came across the ultra-talented Nikka Vallo aka Sky Sailor and his new EP titled, 'A Love Feeling'. And it just so happens that he is such a nice guy, that he has put the whole EP up on his soundcloud and made it FREE!! to download. So be sure to head over there now and check it out!

K.OH!

At just 19, the future looks bright for this kid. With production skills that are seemingly improving by the day, his tracks have already gained international support from the likes of ikki. His latest, a thumping electro remix of NEUS' track Blast! is heavy enough scare anybody and everybody off the dance floor! He has entered it into the remix comp for the song and the entry with the most plays get released as a part of the Blast! EP so show it some love.
(Caution: Not for the feint hearted)

BONUS: For those of you who have been misbehaving lately here is K.OH!'s Naughty Corner mixtape.

OHYEAH!

This young German first caught my eye with the name of his track, he then caught my ears when i listened to the tune! A bangin' disco track, with a cheesy Simpsons reference is right down my alley. This guy is on the rise!

He also did a remix of the Wine&Cheese track, The Chase. In my opinion its just as good as the original, and definitely a more than worthy change up.

BONUS: Go Go Bizkitt! has been at it once again! I am simply amazed at how often he is able to pump out tracks, and just well they are produced. This time its Earth, Wind & Fire's 80's classic Let's Groove Tonight. I am in awe...

P.S. Stay tuned for some big interviews coming up in the next few weeks!

A Time For Introductions!

So i am going to kick off my first attempt at a blog by welcoming all the new readers/followers we have taken on with the addition of myself to Arrivederci Bitches.
Most of my companions call me skum, skumbag, V, skummy f@%k etc...
I am most certainly not a DJ with a MACBOOK PRO and SICK HEADPHONES but i am trying my luck in this epidemic i like to call fame.
i am going to take you guys on a journey away from the much loved 'disco style'. Risky i know but worth it trust me =)
This week i have been paying a fair bit of attention to a few new artists on the scene who have caught my attention in previous weeks. The list is long but i have narrowed it down to these two very talented producers!

1. Tom Piper

Tom has been thrown into stardom in the early months of 2010 and has not once failed to impress listeners with his new innovative ways to punch out hard grooves with a strong backbone mixed with the wobbling synthesizers of dubstep. The combination of these two devices in writing music have defined this very young artist as possible the next big talent to come from New Zealand.
Tom's large following comes as a result of the number of top hits in the charts Australia wide.
This is Tom's latest mix on soundcloud featuring tracks from his new inclusion to the Ministry of Sound tour.

Kings Cross is very familiar with the likes of Tom Piper as he has regular gigs at the likes of Moulin Rouge, Soho, Chinese Laundry etc..
We expect alot of other brilliance from Tom and look forward to tuning into his next big creation.

The Other artist everyone should definitely keep an eye on is:
Blaze Tripp:

Blaze Tripp has actually teamed up with DJ Tom Piper (speak of the devil) with a really raw, deep tune which goes by the name of

Tom Piper & Blaze Tripp - Brrrap!

Thanks for reading guys and i look forward to contributing to this blog again soon!!!
